Intelligent and sustainable stormwater management (ISMO)

Climate change is increasing the risk of flooding in urban areas, where water absorption areas have been reduced as a result of construction. As rainfall increases, the nutrient load entering water bodies also increases.

The overall objective of ISMO is to enable efficient upscaling of sustainable natural stormwater solutions. This will be done via strong engagement of stakeholders by demonstrating the benefits using advanced stormwater models, data collection and use of digital twins for urban environments.
